It was back in 1985 that Roger Fuller met Kaye Culbertson. Roger had moved from Germany to Austin, Texas. Kaye was working as a veterinarian at the practice where Roger boarded his two Goldens while he searched for a home to buy. Each day Roger went to visit his dogs and got to know Kaye who also owned Goldens and used the kennel name “KC Goldens”. Kaye introduced Roger to field work. Once Kaye found out Roger could throw and shoot pigeons, she succumb to Roger’s proposal of marriage. In 1989 they tied the knot. Wanting to pursue their love of dog training, they moved to Paige, TX and founded KC Beefmasters. Over several years they purchased four properties dedicated to raising their registered cattle and winter dog training. Since their arrival in Lee County Texas, many dog trainers have followed creating one of the nation’s dog training Mecca’s. Along with our neighbors, John and Laura Parrott, Roger and Kaye are thrilled to host the 2020 National Retriever Championship.
